Gavin Rush was best known as the British heavyweight Karate champion, who also went on to become the Spanish open champion as well as a member of the English team.

His achievements in combat and sports, with the discipline and determination required, prepared him for what was ahead of him

His security experience began in 1990, when he joined the largest retail security company in the UK and was soon the assistant to the head of training.

He personally trained approximately 25 students a week in all aspects of security and the law.

He left in 1993 to become a Director of Platinum Protection Limited.

Gavin has full responsibility for all new business and all staff, he oversees the recruiting and training of all personnel, as well as the training of all of the clients’ staff in security procedures.

A native of Crawley, he travels the UK, monitoring the company’s operations and supervising his team of managers and supervisors.  He also travels abroad at client request, supervising delicate operations involving valuable materials.

He was trained in Control & Restraint by the response team at Broadmoor Hospital, he also holds ‘City & Guilds’ in Conflict Management, and is licensed by the government to operate in security, licensed premises, licensed retail, events, door supervision, retail stores and key holding.

He comes from a business family, with his father running an established company that is often linked with one of the Platinum operations, Platinum Graphics & Design.
